Agree a manageable scope
Review existing reports and select a useful package of improvements based on the applicable CIS Benchmarks: recognised recommendations for secure system settings. Agree the systems, available policy packs, responsibilities and support allowance before work begins.
Start with Level 1
Begin with the applicable Level 1 recommendations, grouped into manageable packages. Active Directory, Windows desktops and servers can be scoped separately. Defender Antivirus, BitLocker encryption, firmware settings and selected Level 2 recommendations can follow as separate packages where appropriate.
Prepare and pilot
VPP supplies the agreed policy pack and human-readable import instructions. Your IT team applies the pilot changes and tests business applications. We provide testing support and review the results with your team before wider deployment.
Roll out and verify
Your IT team manages production waves. At agreed review points, we use existing system-by-system CIS compliance reports to compare the baseline, pilot and final results. A one-page closing note records progress, exceptions and remaining actions.
Keep the engagement focused
The service includes scope and handover, pilot review and a final review. Sessions, questions and verification are limited to the agreed scope and delivery window. Further packages or additional reviews can be scoped separately.
Your team’s role
Your IT team or provider approves and applies changes, tests business functions and manages production rollout and recovery. VPP provides guidance, testing support and verification. Your business owner decides on exceptions and next steps.
